Highway 97 pwalxkn (mule deer) Monitoring Project

Hunters for BC would like to acknowledge that this project area is on the traditional and unceded territory of the Okanagan syilx people. We recognize, honour and respect the presence of Indigenous people, past, present and future.

pwalxkn are an essential resource for food security for the Syilx Okanagan people.  pwalxkn are important for cultural practices, knowledge transfer, hunter opportunity, and can be an indicator of ecosystem health.

We seek donations of all sizes for the ongoing cost of supplies to run our cameras, including Memory Cards, Batteries, Locks, Cloud Photo Storage.

Each camera will be labelled with a Name chosen by the sponsor.  This name will be included on a professional label attached to the bear/theft guard and will include the pwaxlkn project name plus a QR code for anyone “passing by” the camera and curious about it’s purpose.  The QR code will link to our project webpage for more information.

Trailblazer Sponsors will receive camera photos, name recognition & business/logo links on our website.  As we sort thru photos & videos from our mortality monitoring project, Trailblazer Sponsors will receive 1-2 x year photos from their camera along with project updates.  In addition, sponsor name (business name and logo welcome) will be placed on our project page along with social media shoutouts.  Be among the first to receive reports!

Guardian Sponsors will receive camera photos and name recognition. As we sort thru photos & videos from our mortality monitoring project, Guardian Sponsors will receive 1-2 x year photos from their camera along with project updates.  In addition, sponsor name (business name and logo welcome) will be placed on our project page along with social media shoutouts.  Be the first to receive reports!
